Purple and Grey Shibori Trench

A one of a kind, vintage, Japanese kimono silk, trench coat. The fabric is 'shibori,' Japanese tie-dye. The fabric was dyed a light grey, then tightly tied all over and dipped into a purple dye bath. The tied areas resisted the dye. There are angled pockets on the front. It can be worn with or without its matching belt. Fully lined with silk charmeuse. 5 square metal buttons line the front.
Garment measures 43 inches bust, 46 inches hips, length at center back 31 inches. Size small. [Approximate industry size 12.]

All pieces are hand made one at a time in my Portland, Oregon studio. Fabrics are vintage Japanese silks. The very special fabric used in this trench coat was woven, stenciled and painted by Japanese artisans and finally sewn into a kimono. I removed the hand stitching, washed and prepared the fabric and sewed it into my trench coat design.

Each piece I make is unique, most are one of a kind. I ship USPS priority at the beginning of the week.
