Beaded Shibori Leaf jacket
$885.00
A one of a kind jacket sewn from a vintage Japanese kimono silk. The fabric is shibori, a Japanese tie-dye technique. For this fabric the leaf design was created by tying off tiny bits of fabric then dying it a cerulean blue. The tied areas stayed white, the rest was dyed blue. For just enough sparkle and shine, tiny glass beads have been hand stitched highlighting the leaf design. 6 vintage glass buttons line the front. The jacket is fully lined with silk charmeuse. A classic straight sided jacket, I call this style 'Chanel'.
The garment measures 45 inches bust, 49 inches hips, length at center back 25 inches. Size Medium. [Approximate industry size 14-16.]

All pieces are hand made one at a time in my Portland, Oregon studio. Fabrics are vintage Japanese silks. These very special fabrics were woven, stenciled, tie-dyed and painted by Japanese artisans. Many were still in the bolt on their way to become kimonos. Others had been sewn into kimonos but were no longer wearable. I remove the hand stitching, wash and prepare the fabrics for their new life. Each piece I make is unique, most are one of a kind. I ship USPS priority at the beginning of the week.
