White with Purple Fans Hitoe

A loose fitting, straight sided blouse, I call this design 'hitoe,' which means unlined. This versatile top can be worn on its own, like a blouse, or over something else like a light weight jacket. It is sewn from a beautiful white kimono silk woven with a wave design. It is printed with purple fans and scattered gold flowers. The collar is a white silk woven with a geometric design. The sleeves are a woven design in purple. They can be rolled up to reveal the same silk as the collar. 5 vintage glass buttons line the front.

Garment measures 41 inches bust, 44 inches hips, length at center back 23 inches. Size small. [Approximate industry size 10 - 12.]

All pieces are hand made one at a time in my Portland, Oregon studio. The fabrics are vintage Japanese silks. The very special fabrics used in this 'hitoe' were woven and printed by Japanese artisans. Although these fabrics had been intended to be sewn into kimonos, the bolts had been in storage.

Each piece I make is unique, most are one of a kind. I ship USPS priority at the beginning of the week.
