Kyoto Garden

Sewn from a gorgeous vintage silk kimono. The base color shifts from a deep navy to a light purple and cream. It is covered with traditional garden flowers, trees and a swirling stream. Just visible is small pavilion behind the foliage. This is a full, roomy jacket, I call it 'oversize.' There are angled pockets at the sides. Fully lined with silk charmeuse. Four vintage glass buttons line the front.

Garment measures 56 inches bust, 58 inches hips, length at center back 33 1/2 inches. Oversize, one size fits most.

All pieces are hand made one at a time in my Portland, Oregon studio. Fabrics are vintage Japanese silks. The very special fabric used in this coat was woven, stenciled and painted by Japanese artisans and finally sewn into a kimono. I removed the hand stitching, washed and prepared the fabric and sewed it into my oversize coat design.

Each piece I make is unique, most are one of a kind. I ship USPS priority at the beginning of the week.
