Gold and Purple Swirl Jacket

A one of a kind, loose, 3/4 sleeved jacket sewn from vintage Japanese kimono silks. Skinny, orange and deep purple strips are appliquéd onto the golden ochre kimono silk. Rich purple is at the shoulders. Fully lined with silk charmeuse. The front closes with 6 buttons.

Garment measures 48 inches bust, 48 inches hips, length at center back 24 inches.

All pieces are hand made one at a time in my Portland, Oregon studio. Fabrics are vintage Japanese silks. These very special fabrics were woven, stenciled, tie-dyed and painted by Japanese artisans. Many were still in the bolt on their way to become kimonos. Others had been sewn into kimonos but were no longer wearable. I remove the hand stitching, wash and prepare the fabrics for their new life. Each piece I make is unique, most are one of a kind. I ship USPS priority at the beginning of the week.
