Black and Red Wave Hitoe Top

A loose fitting, straight sided blouse, I call this design 'hitoe,' which means unlined. This versatile top can be worn on its own, like a blouse, or over something else like a light weight jacket.
Sewn from a black kimono silk with a design of red and white diagonal dots. The open collar shows a black and white silk with a random stripe design. The contrasting black sleeves can be rolled up to reveal the same fabric used inside the collar. 5 red, glass buttons line the front.

Garments measures 49 inches bust, 52 inches hips, length at center back 25 inches. Size large. [Approximate industry size 16-18.]

All pieces are hand made one at a time in my Portland, Oregon studio. Fabrics are vintage Japanese silks. The very special fabrics used in this 'hitoe' were woven, stenciled and tie-dyed by Japanese artisans and sewn into kimonos. Others were stored as bolts on their way to become a kimono.

Each piece I make is unique, most are one of a kind. I ship USPS priority at the beginning of the week.
