Deborah's Kimonos full Skirt

$1,100.00 / Sold Out

A one of a kind full skirt. The skirt is pieced from three vintage kimonos. The old kimonos were no longer wearable, but there was just enough fabric to piece into this skirt. It is covered with traditional Japanese good luck designs such as cranes, pine trees, bamboo, cherry and chrysanthemum flowers.

The skirt is paired with 'Ocean Stream' hitoe, available for purchase separately. Buy both together and save $85. Email me and I'll adjust the price accordingly.

It has a zipper and hook closure for dressing ease. The waistband has elastic for comfort. To add fullness, it is shown with a full crinoline, available at no charge on request.

The skirt's elasticized waist measures between 25 and 32 inches. The length measured from the top of the waistband to the hem is 30 inches.

All pieces are hand made one at a time in my Portland, Oregon studio. Fabrics are vintage Japanese silks. These very special fabrics were woven, stenciled, tie-dyed and painted by Japanese artisans. Many were still in the bolt on their way to become kimonos. Others had been sewn into kimonos but were no longer wearable. I remove the hand stitching, wash and prepare the fabrics for their new life. Each piece I make is unique, most are one of a kind. I ship USPS priority at the beginning of the week.
